My experience with the local church has been wonderful. My family and I moved to Austin from Guatemala when I was in high school. As believers of Christ we were looking for a place to meet; I thank God that in His sovereign arrangement He brought us to a place where we could know Him as a personal and intimate God. What I have seen and heard has filled my life with meaning because I know that I am here to express God. Also, to be with other believers that love and pursue Christ has caused me to do the same. Song of Songs 1:4 says, “Draw me, we will run after you.” This verse describes my experience since I began meeting with the local church. On one hand God draws me to Himself in a personal way, but on the other hand, I pursue after Him with other believers of Christ that love Him (2 Timothy 2:22).
